In 1989, Daniel acquired approximately 2,300 acres of land nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and developed Greystone into a premiere master planned 18-hole golf course/residential community with additional land for commercial use. The original development included the Robert Cupp-designed Founders course, which is continually ranked among the top golf courses in the Southeastern United States and was home of the Regions Charity Classic Champions PGA Tournament from 1992 through 2005.. Daniel subsequently assembled and purchased an additional 700 acres which contains an additional 18-hole golf course and an additional 500 home sites. The Rees Jones designed-Legacy course is one of the premier golf courses in the Southeastern United States. Greystone contains approximately 25 acres of commercial property near the entrance to Greystone off U.S. Hwy. 280.
